Introducing Brooklyn Betrothed!

Brooklyn Betrothed
It is such an exciting day to be announcing the launch of Brooklyn Betrothed.

I hope that you will take the time to check it out! For several months we ladies have been working hard, so it’s exciting to see it all come to life! I hope that you will check in with us over at Brooklyn Betrothed where we will be posting lots of expert advice on planning a wedding. You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter!

Union Pool Engagement Shoot – Nancy and Doug!

Wow, time really flies. I photographed Nancy and Doug’s engagement session at Union Pool a few months back and their wedding is next week already! In honor of the approach of their big day, I wanted to blog some of my favorites from their engagement shoot. The two chose to be photographed at Union Pool, because it’s where they met and I was happy to head back to my old neighborhood of Williamsburg to capture them in such a sentimental place. We had an excellent time at the engagement session (Nancy is also a big gLee fanatic so we had lots and lots of gossiping to do!). It was great getting to know them better and I’m certain their wedding will not disappoint! Hope all the last minute details are going smoothly and I’ll see you two very soon!

Grow with Me – Stella is One!

Sometimes it feels like I have the absolute best job in the world. It has been such an honor to be able to capture Stella from her mommy’s belly to her first birthday. It feel like just yesterday that I was snapping away at Wendy and Kenny’s wedding and now here’s their adorable baby girl turning one! I thought I’d put together a little trip down memory lane for the blog, ending with Stella’s first birthday cake smash. Enjoy!

And now she’s one!

Happy first birthday Stellie!!!

Darryl and Michael Marry!

First, hooray for New York! While part of me wants to say, “it’s about time, New York!” I’m just so happy the time is finally here. It was a complete honor to spend this past Sunday with Michael and Darryl capturing their marriage at Queens Borough Hall and then their celebration with family and friends later that day. The two have been together 26 (yup, 26) years and together are raising a super awesome daughter, Chloe. They’re a fabulous family and spending the day with them, recording these memories was truly wonderful. I hope you enjoy this peek at their day. Again, congrats to Michael and Darryl and congrats to New York State!

When I arrived at City Hall, I was warmly greeted by Chloe (showing off their number), Darryl’s mother, Michaels brother and niece.

Loving this moment between Chloe and Darryl.

In the judge’s chambers, the two shared a short and sweet ceremony.

A favorite of mine, the three watch the judge sign the marriage certificate.

What to do next? Why drink, eat and be married of course! The back room of their favorite local Chinese restaurant was taken over by the couple, close family and friends to eat (incredibly delicious) food while celebrating the morning’s festivities and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. More from there to come, but I hope you enjoyed these for now!

Do I get a disc?

This is the most commonly asked question (aside from ‘what should we wear?’ which I will definitely address on the blog soon!). The answer? Yup, always! All wedding packages, engagement shoots, family shoots, newborn sessions, etc. come with a dvd of high resolution digital files. This also means no hidden fees after the shoot as the cost of the disc is included in your sitting fee.

What exactly does this means? It means that the high resolution digital negatives are yours forever to print from, make products with, upload to facebook, and so forth. If you’re not up for printing and album making, that’s fine too. You can always purchase prints, cards, albums, etc. from your online gallery. But the digital files are always yours to keep. They’re your memories after all!

A Sneak Peek Mash-Up

I hate when I neglect my blog, but occasionally it happens. I’ve been shooting non-stop lately, which has been really fun. I thought I’d throw up a peek at what I’ve been up to before each gets a dedicated blog post!

Asbury Park Engagement Shoot – Kelly and Dan

I had an awesome time working with Kelly and Dan (& Marvin!) on their engagement shoot. I love getting out of the city every now and then for shoots and Asbury Park has so many fantastic photo spots, it was a bit overwhelming! By the end of our time together I’m pretty sure we all had cheek aches from smiling and laughing so much! Working with them made me really excited to shoot their wedding this November. I know it’s going to be an awesome time. Thanks guys, for all the laughs and for being so much fun to work with – enjoy!

Gift Certificates Are Available

I’m so excited to now be offering these gift certificates. The Mad Libs style back allows you to customize them for any occasion (while having a little fun!). They are available for any sessions offered by Kristina Hill Photography, so check them out!

Destination Wedding – Kauai – Susan and Steve are married!

I say it every time I shoot one, but I love destination weddings. And I know you’re thinking, what’s not to love? It’s a vacation! Well, it’s not exactly that, it’s still work and it’s hard work at that (think heavy gear, heat, plane journeys, equipment schlepping!). But I do love it. And my favorite thing about shooting a destination wedding? The time you get to spend with the couple and their guests leading up to the event. It’s totally invaluable.

Being that the bride, Susan, is not just a fellow photographer, but also a great friend, I was honored to when she asked me to capture her wedding day in Hawaii. I’ve known her and her (now) husband (yay!) Steve for a few years and I was really excited!!! Now I’m not gonna lie, Kauai was definitely one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been in my life and shooting there was a total dream. Maybe one day I’ll find the time to go through/post my personal photos from the trip. But first and foremost I bring you their gorgeous wedding on Anini Beach in Kauai.

Congrats to Susan and Steve and thank you to Pat and Tammy (their Maid of Honor and Best Man) for treating me like family all week. I have fantastic memories from this trip because of you all.

(I don’t usually blog out of order, but I love this shot!)

And, yup, we trashed the dress… here is a little peek at that – with more to come!

Accordion Mini Albums

Today I wanted to feature the one of my favorite items on the blog – the accordion mini album. For a few years now they’ve been one of the most popular (and my most favorite) products. They are included in two of my wedding packages and sold as an add on for any type of shoot. They are super sweet press print products that magnet shut, easily fitting in purses and bags or fun to display on desks or bookshelves! The best part is they’re sold in threes, so you can keep one and give the other two away (think grandparents! parents)!

Here are two from recent shoots.
